Children’s Church

childrenschurch.jpgSunday mornings during worship we strive to provide an age-appropriate worship experience for children ages 4 yrs. - 2nd grade. The curriculum used is based on Jerome Berryman’s “Godly Play” which enables children to worship God, and explore and express their relationship with God. The children learn the stories of God as well as symbols, vocabulary, and the structure of Christian worship.

Mission Statement: The ministry of Children’s Church at Kingwood Christian Church is to provide an age appropriate worship experience for children that enables them to explore and express their relationship with God while learning the symbols, vocabulary, and structure of Christian worship.

Location: Children gather with adult leaders in the foyer following the Children’s Moment and are escorted to the education building (room 10 downstairs). Parents are welcome to join the escort, meet the teachers, and remain until they are comfortable. Parents are asked to pick their children up immediately following worship. (As you enter the building’s main door, turn to your right past a short wall and immediately turn right again. Room 10 is in front of the stairwell).

Children’s Art Response: Children make a weekly art response to the story. Through the art response children are able to express their knowledge of the story and build their Christian faith.
