Parlor Notes

Dear Church Family,

In my 20's I belonged to a Midwestern church with a building more than 100 years old.  My favorite space besides the sanctuary was the church parlor--kind of formal, dark paneling, antique tables and chairs, some stained glass.  This was the sacred "watering hole" on Sundays--the place where folks shared a cup of coffee and cookies, admired babies, caught up on family news and talked with the pastor about the sermon.

Some Sundays you and I get to chat briefly about the sermon as we greet each other in the foyer or at the door following worship.  But it's always rushed and I never get to spend as much time as I would like listening to how the Spirit was blowing and just what God was telling you that morning.

So here's our 2010 attempt to duplicate those parlor conversations from long ago.  I invite you each Monday to "Meet Me in the Parlor" on our church website where you will find some comments and questions based on Sunday's sermon. And you can reply so that we can all be blessed!
